Candidates should be graduates in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 20 years experience in Procurement co-ordination activities for Plant and Machinery for large EPC Projects. Should have leadership and communication skills in dealing with Project team and Vendors, experience n Project implementation with exposure to procurement procedures/procurement activities and computer proficiency
Procurement Coordinator (PC) is responsible to Project Manager (PM) for the control of schedule and budget relating to the materials. The main activities and responsibilities are as follows :
Prepare in coordination with Purchasing, ITB (Instructions To Bidders), SPC (Special Purchase Conditions) and update the Project Vendor List to meet with the Contractual requirements.
Prepare the Procurement Coordination Procedure for the Project.
Coordinate the procurement activities of the Project.
Verify, at the beginning of the Project, the issue plan of the MR complete with the relevant product groups.
Examine the completeness and formal accuracy of MR.
Issue periodically the MSR (Material Status Report) including those related to the arrival at site.
Verify observance of the schedules with the concerned parties and with the assistance of the PCM (Project Control Manager).
Signal to PEM (Project Engineering Manager) /PM potential problems.
Operate as an intermediary between the departments issuing MR and PROCU, by taking care of planning with PROCU the meetings with the suppliers in advance, in a manner so as to allow participation of all the concerned technicians.
Collaborate with Inspection Dept. and other concerned technical department to ensure delivery of equipment/material as per Purchase Order terms.
Coordinate with Shipping/logistics for finalisation of transportation plan for the Project and for release of SRN (Shipping Release Note).
Coordinate with Site for information regarding proper receipt of material at site. To coordinate with Site and Vendor for requirement of Vendor Field Services during erection/commissioning.
Provide feedback to the Heads of the Department, concerning the problems arising from application of standard procedures/work methodologies, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
